Jared Rutkoff is a proud Navy veteran, former law enforcement officer, and devoted father whose life reflects leadership, perseverance, and service. Born and raised in San Diego, California, Jared grew up in an athletic and disciplined household. His mother, Glenell, worked as a nurse, while his father, David, served as a naval officer—instilling in him the values of integrity, accountability, and hard work from an early age. A graduate of Rancho Bernardo High School, Jared excelled in sports, playing baseball, football, golf, and ice hockey. After high school, he pursued his lifelong calling to serve, enrolling in the Palomar College Police Academy, where he graduated with the distinguished Top Gun Award for marksmanship and tactical excellence. In 2001, Jared joined the U.S. Navy as a Gunner’s Mate, rising to the rank of E-5 and earning the Retired Officers Association Leadership Award for outstanding performance and leadership. After his honorable discharge in 2005, he continued his service in civilian life as a Police Officer with the Beaumont Police Department, later advancing to Narcotics Detective with the Allied Riverside Cities Narcotics Enforcement Team (ARCNET). His dedication and leadership earned him the Beaumont PD Officer of the Year Award in 2007. In 2014, Jared earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History from National University, graduating magna cum laude with a 3.67 GPA, demonstrating his lifelong commitment to learning and personal growth. Outside his professional achievements, Jared is a passionate parent, coach, and mentor, dedicating his time to coaching youth softball and baseball while raising his two children with strength and compassion. His resilience is especially inspiring—after the loss of his wife in 2018, he relied on family, friends, and faith to continue providing stability and opportunity for his children, including helping his son gain admission to UC San Diego. In his spare time, Jared enjoys ice hockey, weightlifting, cooking, and science fiction, finding balance in both physical activity and creativity. Through every chapter of his life, he continues to exemplify the values of service, perseverance, and family—always striving to learn, lead, and give back.
